The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes was a popular American radio series that aired from 1939 to 1950, primarily starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson. The show followed a framing device where a retired Watson, living in California, would share stories of his past cases with a weekly guest. While some episodes were direct adaptations of Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories, many others were original scripts written specifically for the radio.
