On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a quick discussion on some college basketball scuttlebutt he heard on Tuesday night. Rumor has it that Duke's Mike Krzyzewski will be retiring later this week. If this comes to fruition, the College Basketball Bluebloods transition that Jason predicted back in March will have been proven to be true. Later, Producer Rob G joins the show to explain why he believes that Russell Westbrook's triple-double record - and 4 seasons averaging a trip-dub - is more impressive than anything Steph Curry has accomplished on the floor. Needless to say, the guys had a healthy debate about it. It's one thing for a guy like Oscar Robertson to say that Westbrook breaking the record should make him the MVP favorite (which the guys agree is blasphemous), but it's something entirely to say that Russ' accumulation of stats is somehow more impressive that Steph's 2 MVPs and 3 championship. All the same, the guys were able to discuss Westbrook's place in history from a handful of angles, including: Are we taking Westbrook's greatness for granted? Are triple-doubles as a stat even that impressive? Are we sure that Luka Doncic or Nikola Jokic won't break Russ' record in a few years anyway? How much has the uptempo style of play in today's game diminished the value of triple-doubles? Trust us, you won't want to miss this one.
