In this episode of the Business English Podcast we discuss the essential skill of Networking.

This skill is vital to all professionals and learners of Business English as it is something we all must conduct on a regular basis. However, due to the very nature of networking, it can often happen when you least expect and perhaps more critically, the stakes can be so high!

In the already complicated world of Business English and professional communication, a networking scenario can be fairly stressful, even for the most well-practiced communicators.

It is for that reason we introduce the simple yet powerful ‘No Nonsense Networking Model' using the ‘5 Ps’.  They are:

  • Perspective
  • Preparing
  • Posing
  • Playing
  • Participating

Each one of the model's five sections is explained in detail to show how they feed into one another and how they help us network.

Throughout the podcast, there are several key takeaway phrases for you to use in your own networking, in addition to some actionable points to help you improve your own skills.

All in all, this episode provides an all encompassing view for any professional or Business English learner to improve their own networking skills.

“The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.”
- Muhammad Ali
