What better way to end season 3 than with this timeless tale from Aesop's fables! I think we all have heard some version of this tale along the way-but do you know just how long it's been around? Well, Aesop the man, was thought to have been born in Greek about 650 BC- and because that is such a long, long time ago, very little is known about his life! We know that many years later, stories said to have been written by him started to show up all over ancient Greece, and many famous thinkers and writers refer to these stories n their own writings! All through the years, his stories have been told and retold in hundreds and thousands of different ways, all over the world. The Hare and the tortoise is one of the most famous, but the true meaning of the story is a little mysterious, just like Aesop himself! Does the boastful Hare deserve his fate or is the tortoise a trickster ? We know that slow and steady won't ALWAYS win the race, but I think the story tries to show us that there are many different ways to succeed in the race of life!
I hope you have enjoyed this season as much as I have! We will be back super soon with more marvelous and magical tales from the land of Nod!
