El Dr. Robert Henderson era un veterano cirujano de columna de Dallas cuando recibió una llamada de teléfono inusual de un hospital local: un cirujano nuevo había operado tan mal que una paciente que había entrado por su propio pie ya no podía ni mover los dedos de los pies. El Dr. Henderson había visto muchas cosas, pero no estaba preparado para esto. De hecho, la operación fue tan mal que se preguntó si tal vez esta persona podía ser un impostor que se hacía pasar por médico.
