Stand-Up comedy is one of the hardest jobs on earth. Could you imagine standing in front of an audience to try and make them laugh? My guest this week is one of the biggest stand-up comedians and YouTube personalities in the Arab region, Fahad AlButairi.
Fahad was doing stand-up comedy back when none existed in Saudi, or in the region as a whole. Not only did he succeed at it, but his career completely took off from his first ever official performance in 2008. Shortly afterwards Fahad was sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the scene, such as Gabriel Iglesias, Maz Jobrani, Tony Rock and Eddie Griffin.
In the conversation we talk about the importance of reinventing ourselves, especially when we feel stuck or that we’ve got more to offer to this world. This discussion is very relevant to Fahad’s artistry journey since he decided to re-shift focus away from stand-up comedy and explore other areas of creation instead. Today, he is an actor, writer, and a creative producer, with a constant strive to expand on his capacity as an artist and grow.
