The Good, The Bad & The Ugly of Cold Wat...

PAUL TAYLOR
About this episode

Today’s guest is a world-renowned professor of Human and Applied Physiology. Professor Mike Tipton spent 35 years working in the areas of thermoregulation, environmental and occupational physiology and is a world expert on survival in extreme environments.

Mike has published over 600 scientific papers and a number of books and was awarded an MBE in the UK for services to physiological research in extreme environments.

Mike provides advice to a range of universities, government departments, industries, medical, legal, search and rescue and media organisations and today he’s going to provide us all advice on the risks and benefits of cold-water exposure and how to do it safely to improve your health.

Mike has also very kindly provided valuable advice to me on the next phase of my PhD, so I was super excited when he agreed to come onto the podcast.
