About this episode

Diabetes Core Update is a monthly podcast that presents and discusses the latest clinically relevant articles from the American Diabetes Association’s four science and medical journals – Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Clinical Diabetes, and Diabetes Spectrum. Each episode is approximately 20 minutes long and presents 5-6 recently published articles from ADA journals.

Intended for practicing physicians and health care professionals, Diabetes Core Update discusses how the latest research and information published in journals of the American Diabetes Association are relevant to clinical practice and can be applied in a treatment setting.

This issue will review:

  1. The carbohydrate-insulin model
  2. Continuous Glucose Monitoring Initiation Within First Year of Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis Is Associated With Improved Glycemic Outcomes
  3. Type 2 diabetes, glycemic control and its association with dementia and its major sub types
  4. Real-world evidence of efficacy and safety of SGLT-2 inhibitors as adjunctive therapy in adults with type 1 diabetes
  5. Effect of Weekly Subcutaneous Semaglutide vs Daily Liraglutide on Body Weight in Adults With Overweight or Obesity Without Diabetes
  6. Cost-Related Medication Nonadherence in Adults With Diabetes in the United States
