How to PROTECT YOURSELF From EMOTIONAL H...

Impact Theory
About this episode

People that experienced abuse as children are significantly more likely to be abused as adults. Even more shocking is a recent study that cites women who suffered from childhood abuse are at a higher risk of dying young. Sadly, drugs and alcohol addiction play a major part in this. Cheryl Burke is a professional dancer, podcaster, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. You may have caught her in one of her 20+ seasons on Dancing With The Stars. She has recently braved the storm and decided to come forward about her alcohol addiction and childhood trauma. While she is a work in progress and making moves towards healing and recovery from a complicated past everyday, she is joining Lisa to openly share her struggles with addiction and finding herself with love, compassion, and acceptance.

For a deeper dive into Cheryl’s world and her story you can also check out the essay she published in US Weekly about her sobriety here: (https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/cheryl-burke-details-sobriety-healing-through-dwts-with-cody-rigsby/)
