Dealing with our Anxiety & Mental Health...

Reyzin Media
About this episode

We are joined by Lighthouse Arabia founder and psychologist Dr. Saliha Afridi who breaks down everything we need to know about anxiety and mental health. Dr. Saliha tells us how we should treat our mental health like we treat our physical health, something to be cared for everyday. We also discuss anxiety and how our bodies go into fight, flight or freeze mode. Finally, we explore how we can show up for loved ones going through a tough time with their mental health. She introduced us to Mental health first aid which is a training that helps you become a first responder for someone going through mental health issues.

If you are currently struggling with your mental health we do encourage you to reach out for help. If you are in the UAE you can find out more about Lighthouse Arabia here, and you can sign up for their free support groups here as well as their course on Mental Health First aid here. Finally, you can follow Dr Saliha on Instagram: @drsalihaafridi.

Also, we’d love to hear from you! Would you like to share how you tend to your mental health? Write to us on sayhi@whoruntheworldpodcast.com, or follow us on Instagram @whoruntheworldpod.

On a final note, we’ve been overwhelmed by the latest world events, particularly what’s been happening in our home country Lebanon. We do hope you can take some time out in your day to donate to these worthy causes:
