Mark previously played on the UK regional tours against the likes of European Tour player Robert Rock, but his true passion has been coaching and he shares plenty of insights into how he has developed local teams into becoming National Champions. Mark also shares his philosophies around coaching and reflects on how coaching has changed over the course of his long teaching career, which began as soon as he left school!

Mark Govier PGA - Key recent Achievements:

Awarded fellow of the PGA status which only 3% of PGA have been awarded. Recognised for a record of developing golfers from juniors to elite performers 2020.

Developed pee wee side at Morriston to 2011 county champions and Welsh national champions where they went to Le Torre Spain and tied with for the championship. Televised sky tv before losing on a count back

Set up elite performance squad of 12 juniors in 2015 where, building a team of mentors around players with guest speakers to help develop the players

Set up high performance programmes using sports psychologists and Dr Golf Global for golf specific training to develop the whole player - available for online and on site

Welsh County coach to all levels from u16 u18 and men’s county for 5 years until 2020
