Joining me on this episode is an outstanding amateur golfer - Sam Jones, a long driving, left handed golfer from Taranaki in the North Island of New Zealand. Sam really knows how to go low and has shot plenty of scores in the low 60s in tournaments across New Zealand- he’s shot 61 an incredible 4 times! He shares some great advice on how he goes so low and he also shares some of his future plans. Sam attended Golf College at the University of West Georgia, USA and he enjoyed a successful college career, winning events and regularly shooting under par.
When Sam returned home to New Zealand in 2019, he won the North Island Strokeplay tournament and he also followed that up with his biggest win at the New Zealand Amateur! Sam's brother Eithan also attends UWA and Sam tells me he is hot on his heels! Sam is also know as a very long hitter and he shares some stories from when he played in long drive events.
