They discussed FIFA’s intentions for FIFAe in 2021 and an overview of what’s to come, why esports is important for FIFA and how it creates a new vertical in their ecosystem.

They also touched on the convergence of sports and esports and what this means for FIFA, whilst also introducing the FIFAe Club World Cup, which is the first of this year’s FIFA-hosted esports tournaments

42 teams will compete from across 6 dedicated global zones (based on geographical region) and a total prize pool of $245,000 (in addition to the $105,000 distributed after the online qualification) up for grabs.
