British English Speaking Challenge Day 5

ALISON PITMAN
About this episode

Day 5 Question and Answer:

Q5: Do you drink tea or coffee?

  1. How do I start my day?
  2. Do I drink coffee throughout the day?
  3. What is the different methods of making a cup of tea?

A: yes I drink both but to be honest I much prefer coffee. I can’t start my day without a strong cup of black coffee. Without it I just can’t get going. I’ve found as I get older I can’t seem to handle too much caffeine throughout the day so generally I don’t drink coffee after lunch. I do like a cup of tea when I want a warm drink but I’ve already had my fill of coffee. I drink it black which I think is probably not the most popular way of drinking tea in the UK. I believe many tea drinkers like to have milk in their tea. There is an ongoing debate whether the milk should go in the cup first , or you pour the milk into the tea. To be honest, i’ve no idea which is the correct method or if it makes any difference to the taste. Many think tea is the national drink in Great Britain, and it does seem to be the one thing everyone turns to in times of crisis and celebration.
