I also talk about the English terms, "grocery store aisle," "I beg your pardon," and "excuse YOU." 1. Americans say "excuse me" when our body makes a sound or "bodily functions" 2. Americans say "excuse me" to get somebody's attention 3. Americans say "excuse me" when someone is in our way 4. Americans say "excuse me" when we leave the room 5. Americans say "excuse me" when you can't believe something just happened 6. Americans say "excuse me" when we accidently bump into someone 7. Americans say "excuse me" when we didn't hear what a person said
