About this episode

Each Premier League match seems to be falling into one of two categories: ‘chaotic goal-fest’ or ‘tedious, dull nonsense’. Join Jules, Luke and Pete on today’s episode as we sort through this weekend’s games.

Southampton’s annihilation of Aston Villa certainly fits into the former category, as free-kick extraordinaire James Ward-Prowse showed his class. Man United vs Arsenal, though a great win for the Gunners, was a decidedly torrid affair. We get into those, plus Newcastle’s win over Everton and Mick McCarthy’s new gig, in an action-packed edition of the Football Ramble!

The Football Ramble, the original and best football podcast. Brand new podcasts every single weekday throughout the Premier League season and every day throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

No cliches. No ex-pros like Peter Crouch or The Rest is Football. Just the funniest football conversation out there. Your guardian for the season, daily not weekly. Stick to the Ramble, totally.
