Dean Corll "The Candyman"

Emash Digital / Wondery
About this episode

Dean Corll was a monster who was given the nickname "The Candyman". In the early 1970s, Corll preyed on teenage boys around the Houston, Texas area. He is thought to have tortured, sexually assaulted, and murdered as many as 27 from 1970 to 1973. But Corll didn't totally act alone. He was able to convince other teenage boys to lure his victims to him. But in the end, it would be one of these teenage boys that would turn on Corll.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the details surrounding this case that would become known as the Houston Mass Murders. What would make Dean Corll turn into such a prolific sexual sadist and murderer? And how was he able to convince others to help bring his victims to him? These crimes are some of the most heinous in American history.
