On this episode of The Cine-Files, hosts Steve Morris and John Rocha stay in the world of the MCU to continue their breakdown of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR with special guest noted actor and Geek Buddy, Shannon McClung. One of the most revered films from the early phases of the MCU and one that certainly led MCU films to take sides as a member of Team Cap or Team Iron Man. The third installment in the Captain America franchise, it is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Marisa Tomei, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, Martin Freeman, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl. The film focuses on a disagreement over international oversight of the Avengers that fractures the team into two opposing factions—one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark. The film grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing film of 2016. Steve, John and Shannon go thru the back half of the movie scene by scene and break down why this horror lite comedy still holds up all these years later!
