Welcome back to another episode of PASS THE MEERKAT PODCAST! 🎙️😂
Episode 149 is here, and the lads are covering EVERYTHING! From nostalgic childhood memories and growing up in strict households to Halloween horror stories, dating in 2026, music, fashion and the ever-changing UK culture.
We kick things off by reflecting on our journey towards Episode 150, comparing our podcasting experiences to The Joe Budden Podcast and discussing the realities of creating content across YouTube and Patreon.
We take a trip down memory lane with classic UK TV shows like 50/50 and Live & Kicking, childhood homework routines, Saturday school, strict parents and some unforgettable Religious Studies lessons. Remember playing Bible verse challenges just to win snacks? 😂
Things get interesting when we discuss the modern dating scene, the rising cost of dating and whether run clubs, live shows and padel socials are the new places to meet people.
With Halloween around the corner, the lads share some hilarious costume disasters, childhood trick-or-treating memories, scary movie experiences and the time one member dressed up as a questionable Batman to impress a Catwoman! We also get into horror films, Nollywood horror and the childhood trauma caused by Busta Rhymes' Gimme Some More music video.
We also get into:
J. Cole's incredible live performances and concert experiences.
Gunna vs Travis Scott: Who puts on the better show?
A solo trip to Paris for a Young Thug concert.
The music industry and million-dollar record deals.
The rise and fall of UK streetwear brands like Trapstar, Corteiz and Carvico.
Are supermarket boycotts against Tesco justified?
The cost of living, food shopping and saving money.
Zara, ASOS and River Island: Where are the best clothes?
Oxford Street becoming pedestrian-only.
Charity collectors, commission-only jobs and some questionable sales tactics.
In England, we’re using water faster than nature can replace it, and in Wales, wetter winters and drier summers are putting pressure on the water supply. We often use more than we realise, we don't need massive lifestyle changes to change these stats.
Everyday ways to save water:
• Cut your shower by two minutes to save 28L
• Use a washing up bowl instead of a running tap to save 10L per minute
• Fix a leaky loo to save up to 400L a day
• Use eco-mode on appliances to save 10L per wash
Search “Let’s Save Water” or visit letssavewater.com to see what small changes you could make and maybe have a chat with your friends and family about this too. !
