The Duchess of Sussex wasted no time releasing a statement following news that her estranged father, 82 year old Thomas Markle, Sr. was in possession of hundreds, if not thousands, of photos and videos of young girls being sexually abused. In her statement, Meghan Markle says she was informed by police of “disturbing allegations” against him in 2018 and that explains why she kept her distance from her father as well as her choice to not allow him to have contact with her children. Markle claims she was given assurances that authorities were investigating the allegations. It was Meghan’s half brother, Thomas Markle Jr. who alerted authorities, after he says he found the images while looking for innocent family mementos.
