Attorneys for Christa Pike are asking the court for more time to prepare for a hearing scheduled to discuss next steps. Pike survived a failed execution attempt. Tennessee administered two doses of pentobarbital, but she did not die. Witnesses reported that she continued breathing and making snoring-like sounds long after the drugs were administered. She was eventually taken by ambulance to a hospital.
