About this episode

The people, companies and trends shaping the global economy. Watch Carol and Tim LIVE every day on YouTube: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF

Katie Zacharia will no longer serve as President Donald Trump’s press secretary after spending less than a week on the job, thrusting the White House’s communications operation back into a state of chaos. Trump has previously cited Republicans' messaging as a pain point in recent remarks. Elsewhere, the Texas Senate race has turned into one of the most expensive in history. Elon Musk gave $158 million to the GOP’s main super PAC backing Senate candidates in September, according to the latest filings from the Federal Election Commission. Meantime, AI has emerged as a volatile issue in the midterm elections that will decide control of both houses of Congress, while Americans still grapple with affordability as conflict in the Middle East continues to weigh on energy prices.

Henrietta Treyz, Director of Economic Policy as Veda Partners, examines the path to the November 3rd midterm election.
