Asian equities rose as dip buyers stepped in following a chip-stock selloff fueled by concerns about the artificial intelligence trade. Crude oil edged lower. MSCI Inc.'s Asia Pacific equities gauge climbed 1%, with five shares advancing for every one that declined. Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc. gained in Seoul, helping South Korea's Kospi Index rise almost 3% after slumping on Thursday to its lowest level since April. And - The situation in euro-area bond markets is contained and far from requiring intervention from the bloc's rescue fund, according to European Stability Mechanism Managing Director Pierre Gramegna. "We have a full range of instruments that can be used, and obviously we monitor the situation all the time," he told Bloomberg Television in Bangkok. "But we are not at all at the stage where the ESM has to jump in." He spoke to Bloomberg's Avril Hong from the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank's annual meetings.
