Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market, a look at the notable movers:
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Humana (HUM) shares surged as the company improved its performance on crucial Medicare Advantage quality ratings that will boost future revenue. The company’s largest Medicare Advantage contract with more than 2 million members improved its rating above the threshold to earn bonus payments, according to data released from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The quality measures, called Star ratings, can translate to bonuses worth billions of dollars for companies if their plans have four or more stars.
- Telecom stocks were seeing their worst daily drops in over a decade, with Verizon and other telecommunications stocks dropping on Friday. SpaceX's announcement that it was buying low-band spectrum has driven the drops, as the company plans to use the spectrum to "pave the way for Starlink Mobile to become a major mobile carrier in the U.S." Shares of Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile were down.
- Apple (AAPL) shares are down 1.83%% on Friday, after a report that the company cut component orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max following weaker-than-expected demand.
