Why do talented, hardworking men still lose? Former Navy SEAL David Rutherford welcomes back Rich Graham, a former SEAL Team 10 operator and the founder of Full Spectrum Warrior, who says it's rarely the skill that takes a man out. It's the stuff on the side: his lifestyle, his discipline, his decisions and what happens at home. Rich saw it training police officers who could barely get into a kneeling position in their gear. He points to Tiger Woods, who in Rich's view lost number one because of his life off the course, not his golf, and to the SEAL Teams, where he says guys rarely lose the trident for bad operating.
You'll hear the sniper school rule Rich applies to every mistake: let the missed shot go, but know why you missed, or your next shot is just a guess. Rich explains why owning your mistakes takes away everyone's ammo, why making the SEAL Teams still left a huge void in his heart, and how to tell if you're really succeeding when you're winning at work and losing at home. He also walks through his new book, The Full Spectrum Warrior Lifestyle: An Introspective Guide to Creating Balanced, Long-Term Success, out December 1.
Guest: Rich Graham is a former SEAL Team 10 operator, firearms instructor and the founder of Full Spectrum Warrior. He created the Navy SEAL Kettlebells program, the Combat Mobility System and the Protectors Summit, and he founded Home Front K9 Project, which trains and donates service dogs to disabled veterans from the Special Operations community.
