Born and raised in Catalonia, he came through the famous La Masia, but at just 16 decided to head to Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

It wasn't long before he was in the first team, eventually replacing the great Patrick Vieira and becoming the complete midfielder.

Was it a case of right player wrong time for Cesc though? He narrowly missed both Arsenal and Barcelona's peak years, before eventually finding sustained sucess at Chelsea.
