Carol Jarvis was a woman whose life was shaped by her family and, later, by a degenerative illness which left her increasingly dependent on others. As her health deteriorated, her husband took on the role of her carer, looking after her at home as she became less able to care for herself. But behind the closed doors of the family home, things were not quite as they appeared.
Carol’s children began to notice differences in their mum's condition, particularly when comparing the times she was cared for by her husband with those when they looked after her themselves. Small inconsistencies began to raise questions, but confronting their Dad was far from easy. When another woman entered the picture, the situation became even more complicated. What followed would expose a disturbing relationship, a bizarre living arrangement and a series of events which would eventually lead police to a devastating discovery inside the family home.
This is the story of Carol Jarvis, the questions raised by those closest to her, and the shocking truth that eventually emerged.
