In 2007, former NFL star O.J. Simpson led a group of armed men into a room at the Palace Station hotel-casino in Las Vegas to confront sports memorabilia dealers Alfred Beardsley and Bruce Fromong. Simpson claimed he was merely reclaiming personal mementos, family photos, and sports artifacts that had been stolen from him years prior. However, because members of his group carried firearms and used force to take the items, Simpson was arrested and later convicted in 2008 of multiple felonies.
