Ep. 289 | Stop Saving Prayer for "Later"

Called to More
About this episode

Do you ever feel like prayer only really counts if you're kneeling in silence with nothing else going on? Fr Columba opens with a story about two young friars asking their spiritual director whether it's alright to smoke while you pray, and uses it to get at something bigger: can ordinary things, gardening, chores, even physio, actually become prayer too? Drawing on his own experience praying the rosary while doing physiotherapy, and watching the Missionaries of Charity pray while they cooked for the homeless, he makes the case that dedicated prayer time still matters most, but it was never meant to be the only kind. If your day feels too full for prayer, this is an invitation to bring Jesus into it anyway.
