Try:
“Pretty good, actually. I got a lot done today.”
Small changes like this can make your everyday English sound much more natural and conversational.
“Pretty good, actually.”
A natural alternative to simply saying “Good.”
“It was pretty hectic.”
Use this when your day was very busy.
“I had a lot going on.”
A natural way to say you had many things to deal with.
“I was running around all day.”
Use this when you were extremely busy dealing with different things.
“I got a lot done today.”
Perfect for describing a productive day.
“I finally got around to replying to those emails.”
Use “get around to” when you finally do something you've been planning to do.
“Nothing too exciting.”
A natural response when your day was fairly normal.
“Same old, same old.”
An informal expression meaning things were basically the same as usual.
“It's been one of those days.”
Use this when several frustrating or stressful things have happened.
“I had a rough day.”
A natural way to describe a difficult day.
“Things calmed down after lunch.”
Use this when a busy or stressful situation becomes quieter.
“I finished everything around six and called it a day.”
“Call it a day” means to stop working or finish an activity for the day.
“I'm just winding down after a long day.”
“Wind down” means to gradually relax after being busy.
Think about your day today and talk about it for one full minute.
Instead of starting with “My day was good,” try:
“Pretty good, actually…”
“It was pretty hectic…”
“Nothing too exciting…”
or
“It's been one of those days…”
Then add a few details about what you did, how busy you were, what happened, and how your day ended.
