David Rutherford Show: Cuban Resistance ...

iHeartPodcasts
About this episode

David Rutherford sits down with Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat — Secretary General of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance and co-founder of the Cuban Democratic Directorate — days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Cuba will be on an "irreversible path" before this administration ends. Orlando doesn't hedge: there is an insurgency in Cuba right now, and beneath a 95-year-old Raúl Castro no one is in charge.

Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat holds a Ph.D. from the University of Miami, has lectured at Georgetown, and has interviewed Cuban nationals captured fighting for Russia in Ukraine. He co-signed the March 2026 Liberation Accord uniting Cuba's opposition.
