About this episode

On this episode of Stock Movers:

-Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) shares plummet. Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. sank after the Foot Locker chain it acquired last year continued to struggle, raising doubts about the broader sneaker market. The company now expects net sales to be in a range of $21.9 billion to $22.2 billion in the current fiscal year, down from its previous forecast.

-Uber (UBER) shares rise. Uber Technologies Inc. is rolling out a new safety feature that lets parents or guardians view a video livestream of their teenager’s ride. The feature uses the selfie camera on the driver’s phone and notifies an authorized guardian if a livestream is available for viewing within the Uber app.

-Target (TGT) shares fall. Target apologized on Monday and said it had pulled a Halloween costume from sale depicting a circus clown that critics said evoked Blackface and minstrel shows, Reuters reported. “As a company, we know we got this wrong, and we are deeply sorry,” Target said in a statement. “The costume is offensive and should never have been part of our assortment.
