Abdul El-Sayed won the Democratic US Senate primary in Michigan, notching a narrow but cataclysmic victory over Representative Haley Stevens and the establishment wing of the party that backed her in the battleground state.
El-Sayed prevailed with 48.5% of the vote to Stevens’ 47.5%, according to the Associated Press. Mallory McMorrow, who had suspended her campaign, drew 4% of the votes.
