My name is Bibhu Dev Misra and I live in Kolkata, India, with my family.
Like most urban-educated boys, I followed the traditional route to success in my early life. As someone who was comfortable with science, I did my engineering from IIT Kharagpur and subsequently completed my MBA from IIM Kolkata. I worked as an Information Technology consultant for more than 20 years, and spent a number of years working in the US for various multinational organizations, including the World Bank and the United Nations.
It was early on in my work life that I was exposed to the writings of researchers such as Graham Hancock, Michael Cremo, Adrian Snodgrass, Joseph Campbell, Walter Cruttenden, Subhash Kak and others, who were looking at our past with a new spirit of inquiry, and identified a number of glaring inconsistencies in the version of history that has been handed down to us.
Their writings inspired me to begin a journey of seeking answers to a large body of mysterious knowledge left behind by our ancestors in the form of sacred texts, inexplicable artifacts, awe-inspiring architecture, cryptic symbols, and fantastic myths and legends. To this end, I also began traveling to many ancient sites around the world in order to gain a first hand experience of these remarkable places.
In addition to travel and writing, my other interests are music, sports, and photography. When I am not researching, writing, or traveling to ancient sites, I like to strike up a tune on my guitar or keyboard, read books or watch films on ancient mysteries and esoteric subjects, go for long walks, and practice yoga and meditation.
