When Kevin Hollinsky and his two friends got in the car that night, they had the music turned up. They were normal teenagers, coming home from a night out drinking.
But when Kevin took a corner too fast, his entire world changed. He killed his friends Joe Camlis and Andrew Thompson. Kevin survived.
Kevin Hollinsky was convicted of dangerous driving that caused the death of two of his passengers.
The expectation of some in 1995 was that he would do time for the crime. But instead the young man from Windsor Ontario received a sentence which some thought revolutionary. He was given an alternative sentence of community service. A sentence, which proved anything but lenient.
