We were all so hopeful that finally Prince Harry, Meghan and grandchildren Archie and Lilibet might have a royal reunion with King Charles and family at Buckingham Palace this week. Harry’s camp made the announcement that an invitation had been extended, but shortly afterward, the Palace announced that the Duke of Sussex didn’t respond in time to make the necessary staffing accommodations. Harry’s spokesperson suggested it may be the court decision regarding Harry’s lawsuit against the Daily Mail’s publisher that may be the real reason behind the Palace’s about face, not wanting King Charles in an uncomfortable position. Harry arrived solo in London on Monday, and right now, it’s unclear whether Meghan and the kids will join him later in the week outside of London, given security concerns and the government’s unwillingness to provide taxpayer funded security to the Sussexes.
