And when someone finally forced their way in, they found a scene that would haunt the nation for years: a husband, a wife, and even their infant daughter, all slaughtered.

And in another room, an eight-year-old girl, barely breathing, her arm severed at the joint. She was the only witness. She was also, somehow, still alive.
