Today's episode features a spirited dialogue between former Governor David Patterson and political commentator Jake Novak regarding the fiscal and social management of New York City. The conversation centers on a sharp critique of Mayor Mandani’s proposed budget, specifically targeting his plans to reduce police hiring, threaten property tax hikes, and prioritize administrative roles for racial equity in a city the speakers argue is already diverse. Intertwining local governance with broader political strategy, the duo discusses the perceived failures of Democratic leadership, noting a tendency to rely on personal attacks against Donald Trump rather than addressing core issues like crime and education. The dialogue concludes with an exploration of media monopolies and a nostalgic reflection on the unabashed personalities of past New York mayors, ultimately serving to challenge progressive policies while advocating for economic competition and political accountability.
