Is Man United’s OBSESSION With the Past ...

Abbie Brock
About this episode

Man United were knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton - the first time they’ve gone out at the first hurdle of both domestic cups since 1981–82. It also leaves them staring at a 40-game season, their shortest since 1914–15. With Michael Carrick set to take interim charge until the end of the season, is he the right man to steady the ship — and is Man United’s past still holding them back?

It’s Carabao Cup semi-final week, with the first legs taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday: holders Newcastle take on Man City, and Chelsea face Arsenal. So the boys draft their All-Time Chelsea–Arsenal XI.

And with AFCON reaching the semi-final stage, the panel also builds a combined XI of the greatest African players to ever grace the Premier League.

All this and more in the latest episode of The Club.
