A verdict of unlawful killing was this week returned in a coroner's court, which heard that student Emer O'Loughlin was killed violently before her remains were burned in a fire.
Pam O'Loughlin, Emer's sister said the verdict is monumental to her loved ones, as it is the first time that the state have acknowledged that she was murdered.
The whereabouts of chief suspect John Griffin remain unknown.
