I’ll start with a few stories from my interesting week. Then, now that Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev have each beaten each other once, why isn’t anyone talking about a potential trilogy? And after Merab Dvalishvili’s dominant win over Cory Sandhagen at UFC 320, Sean O’Malley says he’s the only one who can beat him. Plus, you all know I like to complain about the rankings - but this time, I think they got it right.
Later, I fully support Sean Strickland’s plan to earn a title fight with Khamzat Chimaev. And, with the UFC rumored to be targeting Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje as the headliner for their Paramount debut, where does that leave Paddy Pimblett? Also, there’s a lot of speculation surrounding Conor McGregor’s 18-month suspension, but I’m standing by what I said over a year ago: he’s not fighting again. And finally, as Ian Machado Garry gets ready to face Belal Muhammad at UFC Qatar in November, I have to admit - I’ve missed Garry.
