Why is NWSL attendance down?

THE ATHLETIC
About this episode

After several years of significant growth, NWSL attendances are decreasing. But why is this? And, by how much?

On this week's Full Time podcast, hosts Tamerra Griffin and Meg Linehan dive into the data behind the decrease in attendance and wrestle with the factors behind the trend. Which teams and cities are most affected? Should fans, the league and its teams be concerned?

To help further dig into the topic, fans from several NWSL teams called into the Full Time podcast to offer their opinions. Tamerra and Meg also caught up with Kay Bradley, CMO for Chicago Stars FC, and Laura Petro, VP of brand and fan experience Gotham FC, to hear what the teams are doing to spark interest and retain commitment from hardcore supporters.

Where is attendance in the NWSL heading? And, will this dip in attendance continue?
