Speaker:
Rashid Khalidi: Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies, Columbia University. He has taught at the Lebanese University, the American University of Beirut, and the University of Chicago. He is co-editor of the Journal of Palestine Studies and has served as President of the Middle East Studies Association. He has written or co-edited several books, including The Hundred Years' War on Palestine: A History of Settler-Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017, which has been the Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller, and Palestinian Identity: The .Construction of Modern National Consciousness.

في الذكرى الأولى للحرب على غزة، نظم مشروع "حلول للسياسات البديلة" و"برنامج دراسات الشرق الأوسط بالجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة" ويبنار بعنوان "فلسطين الماضي والحاضر مع رشيد خالدي" يوم الاثنين الماضي، 14 أكتوبر 2024، 6:00 – 7:30 مساءً.

المتحدث:
رشيد خالدي: أستاذ كرسي إدوارد سعيد للدراسات العربية الحديثة، جامعة كولومبيا. قام بالتدريس في الجامعة اللبنانية، والجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت، وجامعة شيكاغو. وهو محرر مشارك لمجلة الدراسات الفلسطينية وشغل منصب رئيس جمعية دراسات الشرق الأوسط. كتب خالدي وشارك في تحرير عددا من الكتب، منها "حرب المائة عام على فلسطين: تاريخ الاستعمار الاستيطاني والمقاومة، 1917-2017"، وهو الكتاب الذي وصل لقائمة أكثر الكتب مبيعاً في "صنداي تايمز" و"نيويورك تايمز"، وكذلك "الهوية الفلسطينية: بناء الوعي الوطني الحديث".
