The Taliban authorities say more than 800 people were killed and thousands injured when a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit eastern Afghanistan on Sunday night. Dozens of helicopters have been used to lift the injured out of the worst affected areas in Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.
