Well, it wasn't always pretty, but the Nebraska Cornhuskers are 1-0 after a 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium.
The Huskers overcame an early field goal deficit to take a 13-3 halftime lead, exhibiting the ability to sustain long drives (even if they stalled at the goal line). The game featured a 100-yard rusher in Emmett Johnson and two throwing touchdowns from Dylan Raiola, but it came down to an interception on Cincinnati's last offensive attempt, as Malcom Hartzog Jr. picked off a Brendan Sorsby pass.
While some red-clad fans left the game after the Huskers took a big lead in the third quarter, those who stayed were treated to a little too much excitement, as Nebraska failed to cover, but succeeded where or when it mattered most.
Tonight, Greg, Hoss, and Jake will take us back to Thursday night and offer their insights in the game. And maybe, just maybe, be able to convince you that things are not "doom and gloom" in Lincoln, Nebraska.
