An Israeli air strike on Beirut killed a senior Hizbullah commander, according to the Israel Defence Forces.

A Gaza ceasefire, which involves a full withdrawal of Israeli forces and the release of all the hostages, has been agreed by Israel and Hamas. The announcement was made by the PM of Qatar, which helped broker the deal. 

Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, warned that the country’s army would “return to intense fighting” in Gaza unless Hamas released hostages by midday on Saturday.
