Tim Myers is challenging much more established candidates in the race to be the next lieutenant governor of California - the number two role in a state now considered the fourth biggest economy in the world.
He's also one of the founders of the pop band OneRepublic - who catapulted to fame in the late 2000s. Myers went from a janitor cleaning toilets to music fame and success at breakneck speed.
He tells Martha Kelner why he wants his next career step to be the second highest political office in one of the most important states in the US - and how he can succeed where “career politicians” have failed.
