On today's episode of Setting The Pace, Alex Golden is joined by Tyler Smith from Indy Sports Legends to dive into a topic from our interview with Chad Buchanan on Monday. Chad reiterated that the Pacers would be evaluating the centers and wings on this team and use training camp and preseason to determine who would earn those starting spots to start the season. The guys first look at the center spot and make cases for why James Wiseman, Jay Huff and Isaiah Jackson could all earn the starting 5 spot.
Then, they pivot to the wing position, where it feels like Indiana has some type of resistance to giving Mathurin the nod as the starter. The guys discuss why Mathurin is handled differently than other players on this team and if he isn't the starter by the start of the season, who has the best chance to be. After the position battle, Alex and Tyler each give 2 hot takes for this upcoming season.
Later, Alex is joined by Alex and Korey Stipp, 2 Pacers fans who are also major Setting The Pace fans. Alex and Korey were able to travel across the United States and to Paris for Pacers games this season, as well as attend every home playoff game, and Game 7 of the NBA Finals. They share of their experiences this season, what superstitions they had and the moves that were made this offseason.
