Episode 08: The One That Didn’t Work Out...

Becky Brooks-Smith
About this episode

This week, we’re stepping away from the usual laughs and chaos to talk about something that changed our lives in a very different way - our adoption journey. Or more accurately… our failed adoption attempt.

It’s not the easiest episode to record, but we felt it was important to share. Not every story ends in a picture-perfect family photo and not all adoption journeys go the way you planned. Ours certainly didn’t.

We talk honestly (and with the odd sarcastic comment, obviously) about what we went through, how it impacted us, and why it still matters, even though it didn’t end how we’d hoped.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like behind the scenes of an adoption attempt, the waiting, the meetings, the heartbreak, this one’s for you.
