MOHAMMED HIJAB: Allegations & Cults (ft....

After Maghrib
About this episode

Every now and then, a new alleged scandal involving abuse by a person of religious influence surfaces — the latest being Mohammed Hijab, an online dawah preacher. This incident has sparked a deeper conversation about why abuse of authority occurs, and how Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) may either protect or fail to safeguard the rights of victims.

We also explore the forms of manipulation and deceit often found within cults — especially the tactics used by cult-like spiritual leaders who claim exclusive authority and easy access to higher realms of knowledge, truth, and spirituality. This week, our brother Mohamed Ali joins us to unpack these important issues.

If you or someone you know is experiencing any form of abuse, please reach out to qualified and trustworthy individuals or organisations within the community. If there is any threat to safety or wellbeing, or if you have witnessed unlawful or harmful behavior, do not hesitate to escalate the matter to the relevant authorities.
